General Scope of Responsibility: Develop and manage electrical and control system design, implementation and change processes.

DUTIES & ELEMENTS:
Responsibilities:
•Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and involvement in presentation of the solution to customer.
•Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
•Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
•Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team.

•Support plants in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.

Engineering:
•Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
•Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.
•Create an accurate Bill of Materials.
•Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
•Conduct cost and time estimation.           

Project Execution:
•Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget.
•Electrical, software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems. Able to maintain project scope and identify project creep.
•Support manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, vfd’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons, and robotic integration.
•Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
•Ability to architect programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile.     

Project Completion:
•Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard.
•Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities.

Servicing
•Modifies systems upon customer’s request and documents the amendments accordingly.
•Provide high quality pre-project, design-in and post-project technical support to customers.
•Performs service on Allen Bradley Servo Motors.
•Must have panel construction knowledge.

HUMAN RELATIONS:
The Controls Engineer (CE) works closely with, and often serves as support to several different departments and personnel. As a result, and to achieve optimum effectiveness, the CE must maintain a positive, cooperative relationship with various departments/individuals and must be responsive to their needs.

The CE interacts with all levels of the organization, i.e., with operators through senior managers. To be effective, the CE must be sensitive to, and cooperatively blend the needs and goals of the various levels of the organization with the common denominator of ‘achieving organizational objectives’, i.e., effective launches, safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction, and positive employee/ employer relations.

Finally, in the role of a problem solver, the CE must remain objective and be able to make recommendations based on facts, regardless of whether those recommendations are popular. The CE must take ownership of the processes to which they are assigned and be accountable for all related machines.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift fifty pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery. Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.

General Scope of Responsibility: Manage the Roseville Engineering function.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Manage the RVP Engineering function.
  • Direct RVP Engineering staff in achieving timely completion of department projects and objectives.
    • Develop scope on assigned or initiated projects or tasks. Assign and work with department on projects.  Track progress of assigned tasks.
    • Communicate with appropriate plant and corporate personnel to secure concurrence of the project goals and tasks.
    • Provide leadership, performance feedback input and motivation on projects and performance.
    • Interface with plant personnel to smooth transition of projects into plant.
    • Report on RVP Engineering projects progress and issue monthly RVP Engineering project report. Report progress at monthly plant vehicle launch and business meetings.
    • Define and organize activities and solutions from general assignments to look into or investigate problems or solutions.
  • Leads the process engineering activities for new jobs/launches and engineering changes from preplanning and preparation to implementation.
    • Reviews product design to ensure optimal manufacturability, adherence to tolerance guidelines, tool design, machine design, cell layout, compatibility issues, and safety concerns.
    • Leads tooling development and design from prototype through manufacturing production stages.
    • Leads efforts to develop manufacturing equipment for process through either machine upgrades or acquisition of new capital equipment.
    • Leads process development effort through cross-functional teams to develop optimal cell layout, work instructions, process flow layout, and set-up procedures, while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
    • Leads cross-functional teams to develop PFMEA’s, mistake/error proofing.
    • Coordinates internal engineering trials for PPAP’s, PSA’s, Run at Rates, etc.
    • Evaluates and takes actions needed to meet or exceed targets set for spoilage, cycle time, and quality.
    • Accomplishes the above tasks through compliance with the plant’s Advanced Planning Quality Procedures.
    • Maintain Records of tooling design/purchase as outlined in Mfg. Capability.
    • Produces part samples to meet customer requirements.
    • Turn jobs over to production that are process capable and have all required equipment and documentation
  • Leads engineering efforts to resolve/improve process problems.
    • Identifies and resolves process improvements leading to better cycle times, reduced spoilage, improved process capability (i.e., Cpk, Ppk), and increased throughput.
    • Develops and employs troubleshooting guidelines.
    • Assists production staff as process expert by utilizing troubleshooting, diagnosis, debugging, and other technical skills to keep production lines running at peak efficiency.
    • Performs cause analysis and corrective action implementation on assigned customer complaints or internal failures.
    • Performs safety analysis and implementation if corrective action.
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends. Assist plant in technical, equipment, facility and process matters as required.
  • Train and develop personnel in the group, maintain technical competence and expand knowledge of technical developments.
  • Develop ISO: 16949 procedures for department and demonstrate compliance.
  • Upgrade personal knowledge and skill levels through training.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Facilities and Engineering Projects

  • Responsible for process development effort to develop optimal cell layout, work instructions, process flow layout, set-up procedures, while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity protocols.
  • Coordinates internal engineering trials for PPAP’s, PSA’s, Run at Rates, etc.
  • Responsible for launches through development and engineering of new or changed products.
  • Responsible for the set-up or running of plant service parts as required.
  • Responsible for the programming and optimization robots as assigned.
  • Complete assigned projects on time
  • Assist in review and prioritization of projects.
  • Prepare and submit MERs as required to complete projects
  • Accomplishes the above tasks through compliance with the plant’s Advanced Planning Quality Procedures (APQP)

Contribute to Improvements in Plant Quality/Productivity

  • Resource for trouble-shooting process and equipment problems.
  • Research new equipment options.
  • Assist in startup of new equipment/process as assigned.
  • Trouble-shoot or modify PLC programming as directed by Engineering Manager.

  • The Process Engineer must also interact with all levels of the organization, i.e., with operators through senior manager. To be effective, he/she must be sensitive to, and cooperatively blend, the needs and goals of these various levels with the common denominator being the achievement of organizational objectives, i.e., scrap reduction, cost reduction, efficiency increases, and positive employee/employer relations. 
  • The Process Engineer must be able to interact with customer engineering and assembly plant personnel as part of a launch team or in problem-solving efforts.

Physical requirements:

Occasionally ascends/descends ladders or stairs on manufacturing equipment to assist with trial runs. Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds across plant floor when assisting in tool launch process. Must be able to walk through the manufacturing plant and stand for long periods of time. Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all plant work and safety rules.
  • Ensure the product meets or exceeds customer and internal specifications.
  • Perform all necessary quality control testing and record all data, accurately, as required.
  • Package product in boxes or returnable containers/racks and accurately record all information on all necessary paperwork.
  • Fill out product identification labels and make cartons.
  • Continuously inspect product for defects.
  • Work rotating work schedule and overtime as assigned.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping in work area.

Work Environment:

  • This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment.
  • The work environment at times can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy (85 DBS), and greasy, but is generally thought to be good.
  • Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, hazardous chemicals, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, fumes and heights.
  • High degree of care necessary as serious injury may result.

▪Ability to understand and fulfill job duties in a timely manner;


Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:
▪Ability to troubleshoot and/or make recommendations for mechanical repairs, replace sprockets, pulleys, chains, blades and belts on equipment, resin handling equipment, adhesive application equipment, preventative maintenance, etc.;
▪Ability to operate a fork truck, tractor, plow truck, aerial lift, hydraulic hoist, and other maintenance equipment and vehicles.
▪Basic understanding of basic industrial electrical systems 

▪Ability to weld, machine, and fabricate as necessary to perform equipment repairs;
▪Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
▪Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s and robots;
▪Ability to perform job assignments in conformance to current Quality and Environment Management Systems requirements;


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
▪This is a typical industrial environment utilizing moderately heavy equipment.
▪The work environment at times can be dirty, hot, cold, dusty, noisy (85 DBS), and greasy, but is generally thought to be good.
▪Workers may be exposed to hazards such as overhead hoists, stationary and rotating blades, utility knives, pinch points, lifting, extreme heat, hazardous chemicals, forklift traffic, high voltage, repetitive tasks, moving machine parts, fumes, and heights.
▪Workers may be exposed to ozone within OSHA parameters.
▪High degree of care necessary as serious injury may result.


WORK SCHEDULE
▪Excellent attendance required.
▪Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required. Shift preference is seniority based.

Three (3) positions available, two on afternoon shift and one on midnight shift. They are 8 hour shifts plus overtime as needed. 

General Scope of Responsibility:

To support all Maintenance operations within the manufacturing plant

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 Perform machine maintenance repair. Assignments will include but are not limited to performing preventative maintenance, machine repair, machine design improvements, buidling and grounds maintenance, and industrial machine trouble shooting.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, Etc.):

Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:

  • High School Diploma;
  • Knowledge of basic electricity;
  • DC and AC Drive Installation and Troubleshooting experience;
  • Mechanical and electrical blue print reading and writing experience;
  • Ability to utilize OEM documentation to repair equipment (prints and instructions);
  • Knowledge of electrical controls;
  • Ability to do industrial electrical troubleshooting;
  • Knowledge of Plant work/safety rules;
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and the industrial electrical code;
  • Ability to provide mechanical and electrical support;
  • Ability to fill out machine work requests completely and accurately;
  • Ability to research, select and make recommodations for mechanical and electrical component repairs;
  • Basic machining skills;
  • Knowledge of tooling (dies and molds);
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems.

Desired [Will provide job holder with added skill(s) to perform duties]:

  • 5 years experience in electrical and mechanical repair; (up to 4 years of experience can be substituted by school)
  • Advanced machining skills and ability to work from drawings and prints;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times;

  • Occasionally ascends/descends on ladders;
  • Environmental conditions include noisy environments with occasional varying temperature.
